Rentboy.com has started a scholarship fund, named Cash4Class, created to help escorts and other sex workers who advertise on their site to afford school.
To qualify for the $1500 fund, the applicants may either submit a 500-1000 word essay or a 1-5 minute video with their response to the question: “Why is going to school part of achieving your dream?”
Porn star Colby Keller, who made the announcement in a Rentboy.com video on YouTube, will also be the official judge of the entries.
“Like many of you, sex work was a way for me to help pay for school. I still have a few student loans to pay off…or never pay off, as the case may be,” said Colby the scholarship video announcement.

“Despite that fact, knowledge really is power, right?” he stated. “The power to articulate the world around us, and the power to change it. There are many people out there in the world who want to keep that power from us. There’s no better tool we have to fight with than a well worked-out noggin.”
Fellow porn star and escort Leo Sweetwood concurs.
“I don’t think the general public gives porn stars enough credit, and they don’t see porn stars as smart,” says Sweetwood. “They don’t see that a lot of porn stars are business owners or they are college graduates or PHDs; some of them are pursuing medical school.”
The deadline of Rentboy’s Cash4Class scholarship is September 15th, and is open to current Rentboy.com advertisers who have proof of enrollment in college or classes.
